Gremlin the Cat

A couple of sketches of a cat I found on instagram. This is Gremlin. Both of these were inked using Manga Studio. I deliberately kept these ones nice and simple. I love his facial expressions.

The Dark (and stormy) Knight

My interpretation of the Dark Knight. Painted entirely in Manga Studio. I've had this idea in my head for nearly two years but I just couldn't seem to get it to read correctly. I'm really happy with the way this turned out in the end though.

Chester the Magnificent

Chester the Magnificent. Painting cats is fun.

BattleSka Galactica

I was recently asked to do the cover art for this band's CD. Yes, the last post does feature a reused painting from this post.

Wedding Portraits

Painted as some examples of wedding portrait possibilities. I have no idea who the bride is, as they were just examples I used a painting I had already done of my friend Steve as the groom. He's about six foot five and standing next to him is like being in the shadow of an eclipse which is why the table he's standing on is so funny.

A few Santas

These were painted for a party the theme of which was 'Bad Santa'. My favourite is the one of him stuck in the chimney but I love the expression on his face when he's holding the underpants.

Portrait Pitch

My entry in a caricature design contest on toonpool.com.

Alternate Ghandi

This feels a little more complete now.

Eat Prey Love

Loved the book, hated the film. I mean I really hated the film.

Lewis the trumpt playing croc

I wanted to do a painting of a croc wearing a human skin fashion accessory. I used Lewis from the Disney film, The Princess and the Frog as reference.

Company Logo

Using some font customization techniques I created this in Photoshop and then took it into Maya to create the 3D version.

Victoria

I painted this for one of the most talented young ladies on the face of the earth as it was her birthday. I like to think of this as art imitating life, first.

Vice Chancellor David Skegg

I was asked to do this for the Dunedin University paper The Critic.

Bigups

These are a couple of designs I did for a guy in Dunedin who rents out those really cool Sumo Suits as well as bouncy castles and the like.
